The passing of former The Real Housewives of Johannesburg star Naledi Willers shocked fans and the public alike this week.

Minnie Dlamini-Jones shared on Friday shared how she was dreading writing a tribute post to her friend because it made her death more real.

Willers’ passing was announced by her family on Wednesday. She was diagnosed with stage-two breast cancer in 2019.

Minnie wrote: “I’ve been dreading this post and almost avoiding it because I guess it makes it real… Naledi was a force who never stopped pushing for her dreams, no matter what life threw at her. (And life threw a lot) you were always so beautiful, so confident and always spoke your mind (one of my favourite things about you), we would laugh and joke around and boy could we fight!

“You know how much my family and I loved you and I hope Khosini is there to meet you at the pearly gates. I will miss you terribly my friend, what gives me peace however is that you are resting [and] free of pain and all the ills of this world. Thank you for the gift of sisterhood.”

Khosini Dlamini was the TV presenter’s younger brother, who died in 2019 after suffering a brain aneurism.

Mzansi Magic, the channel on which the show used to air, said they were deeply saddened by Willers’ passing. They wrote on Twitter: “We would like to send our condolences to her family and friends.”

Naledi’s co-star in season one, Evodia “Madam” Mogase, said the model and actress would be missed.

Madam wrote: Memories will remain. Death be [not] proud. May your soul rest in eternal peace, my [angel].

Amanda du-Pont said Naledi fought had hard and “had the best humour doing it”.
