Idols SA Reaches Its Climax With Five Contestants Left

Idols SA has finally reached its climax with only five contestants are now left at the 16th Season of SA Idols which started on the 12th of August this year.

On Sunday, one more contestant will have to walk out of the prestigious event if the votes are not sufficient enough. To date, Brandon, Mr. Music, Ndoni, Zama and Zana Thando are the only ones left and one can keep them from being evicted by simply voting for their favorite contestant.

“Now in its 16th Season, Idols South Africa has become a Sunday night staple and Mzansi’s biggest reality show by several metrics. Celebrating its Sweet Sixteen this year, it all boils down to the spice, scandal and superb singing that’s always on show. Idols have forged one superstar after another, honing raw talent and consistently transforming your average, boys, and girls next door into chart-topping phenoms.

From Season 1’s Heinz Winckler, to Musa, Noma, Lloyd Cele, Khaya Mthethwa, Paxton, Yanga, and last season’s winner Luyolo, many Idols champions are carving out lucrative careers for themselves.

In a testament to what a formidable platform the show is, even artists who didn’t claim the grande prize like Amanda Black, Thami Shobede, King B, Shekhinah, and Xae are dominating the airwaves and blazing a bright path on the international scene.

All things considered, the biggest draw is the show’s knack for getting people talking. From Randall Abrahams’ famously caustic tongue, Unathi Nkayi’s river of tears, and Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung’s effervescent personality and tongue-twisting terminology. Idols is always the most watercooler chat-worthy spectacle on television once the show has aired,” read a statement from Idols SA.

Idols SA airs every Sunday on Mzansi Magic, DStv Channel 161 at 17:00 (SAST – South African Standard Time). It is also available on DStv Catch Up.
