South African musician L’vovo Derrango has been flooded with messages of encouragement after a heartfelt video in which he updated fans on his health gained widespread attention on social media.
In the clip, the Resista hitmaker explained that he is continuing to recover from the stroke he suffered in 2022 and warned supporters that he is no longer active on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Greeting South Africans, the artist said his recovery remains his main focus and stressed that any activity on an X account bearing his name should not be mistaken for his own.
L’vovo revealed that the last time he personally used the platform was in 2020, despite an account with more than 250 000 followers still appearing to be active.

Health battle continues
The musician experienced a minor stroke while performing at a show in KwaZulu-Natal in 2022, forcing him to step away from the spotlight for extended periods.
Although he has occasionally resurfaced, he acknowledged that his journey back to full health is still ongoing.
His latest appearance offered fans a glimpse into his recovery, with the singer remaining optimistic as he continues to rebuild his strength.
Comments on immigration debate
During the same video, L’vovo also shared his views on illegal immigration ahead of the planned nationwide demonstrations scheduled for June 30.
He said he supports the removal of undocumented migrants from South Africa, arguing that only those with valid legal documentation should remain in the country.
The comments came as organisers prepare for marches calling for stricter immigration enforcement.
