An elated Raphael Griffiths spoke to Daily Sun about this recent achievement:

“When I joined the industry, I intended to be in front of the camera for just 10 years and then start writing scripts. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and my schedule has been hectic. As we speak, I have been acting professionally for over 13 years.

“I’m already running behind, but I’m not regretting it. This course was an eye-opener for me. Once I started, I realised how much I didn’t know.

“I pitched an animated project. It’s a cartoon play based on Zwide KaLanga. My plan is to release an animated feature film. Hopefully, I’ll get funding.”

When he was growing up, Griffiths had plans to study Political Science. However, after Matric, he settled for Television Production, and his decision has made him one of the most drooled-after actors in South Africa.

Griffits has been in front of the camera since 2007 when he was a television presenter QBase28. He was the show’s main face until it was axed in 2012.

In 2013, he joined Muvhango as Vusi Mukwevo, a role he played until 2018. From there, he joined the cast of Imbewu: The Seed, which was a new show then.

Besides acting, Griffiths is also a musician, having lent his vocals to Rebecca Mlope and Da L.E.S. He also hosts his own radio show, The Playground, on iGagasi FM.

Last year, he released a personally-funded project called Nightmares, which focuses on mental health issues expressed through dance, music, photography and other art forms.
