During the court proceedings, another astonishing revelation emerged regarding Magudumana’s attempt to claim she was Thabo Bester’s customary wife.

Magudumana made this claim in an urgent court application in May of the previous year. Her objective was to gain access to the body of Katlego Bereng, who was initially believed to be Thabo Bester. However, the body was confiscated by the police due to suspicious autopsy results.

In her bid to conceal the body swap, Magudumana asserted that Bester had paid R60,000 in lobola (bride price) for her in December 2020.

Lieutenant Colonel Flyman discredited Magudumana’s claim, revealing that there was no evidence of such a lobola payment. Additionally, the person allegedly involved in facilitating the lobola process, David Magagula, was found not to exist. The only living uncle Bester had was Claasen Magagula.
