Controversial SABC COO Hlaudi Motoseneng has dismissed the images circulating on social media showing the unrest in Pretoria as ‘photoshoped images by the enemy”

Motsoeneng was speaking at a press conference about “schedule changes, new shows, and new talent” at the SABC, and a new logo for SABC 3.

He said many people were manipulating images to discredit him and it was not going to work because he has people on the ground. The SABC has been under fire for hiding the true extent of the protests and devastation in South Africa.

Hlaudi Motsoeneng also took a swipe at  MultiChoice and eTV saying that they  “don’t exist” in his eyes, and that employees from the companies are coming to work for the SABC.

Motsoeneng said the SABC knows what South Africans want, and “have been doing what people want”.

“The SABC will do what we believe is right for South Africans,” he said.

Motsoeneng said the SABC will show more local content on its TV channels, while ensuring standards are not lowered. He also took a chance to warn all those responsible for photoshoping images that the long arm of the law would soon catch them.
