Jub Jub Faces Arrest Warrant After Missing Germiston Court Appearance
Media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye is facing a fresh legal setback after failing to appear before the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The court issued a warrant for his arrest following his absence from the proceedings.
However, the warrant is currently procedural and is expected to remain in place until his next scheduled appearance on September 7.

Lawyer Cites Illness
According to The Citizen, Maarohanye’s lawyer reportedly told the court that the 45-year-old had fallen ill.
According to the defence, he had been booked off for five days from August 20.
The court nevertheless proceeded with issuing the warrant after he failed to attend.
The warrant will reportedly be activated if Maarohanye does not appear in court at his next hearing.
He is currently out on R5 000 bail.
Charges Stem From E-Hailing Driver Incident
The latest development is linked to a case arising from an alleged confrontation with an e-hailing driver in Edenvale in June.
Maarohanye faces charges including kidnapping, unlawful discharge of a firearm and defeating the ends of justice.
The allegations centre on an incident involving the driver who had reportedly dropped Maarohanye’s girlfriend at his home.
It is alleged that the media personality confronted the driver after accusing him of having a romantic relationship with the woman.
Alleged Gunshot Incident
The case information alleges that Maarohanye removed the driver from his vehicle during the confrontation.
He is further accused of firing a shot in the driver’s direction.
The allegations form part of the criminal case now before the Germiston court.
Maarohanye remains out on bail while the matter continues through the courts.
Next Court Date
The warrant issued on Monday does not immediately mean Maarohanye will be arrested, as it is expected to remain suspended until his next appearance.
His compliance with the September 7 court date will therefore be crucial.
If he appears as required, the matter is expected to proceed without the warrant being activated.
The case remains before the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
