Kelly Khumalo Blasts Mzansi For Rejoicing At Her Pain

South African singer Kelly Khumalo has been facing a lot of backlash on social media over the murder trial of her former boyfriend, soccer star Senzo Meyiwa. The trial has revealed new evidence that has raised questions about what happened on the night of Senzo’s death in 2014. Kelly was with him when he was shot at her home in Vosloorus.

As a result of the public outrage, Kelly has been axed from two events where she was supposed to perform. The organisers of both events cited the negative feedback from the fans as the reason for their decision. Kelly, however, is not taking the criticism lying down. She has been hitting back at her haters on Twitter, defending herself and her career.

Kelly Khumalo slams trolls who rejoice in her challenges

One of the events that cancelled Kelly’s performance was the DSTV Delicious Festival, which announced on Wednesday that it had removed her from the line-up. The festival said it was “aware of the public sentiment” and wanted to “ensure that we deliver an event that everyone can enjoy”.

Kelly reacted to the news by posting a video on Instagram, where she said she was not bothered by the cancellation. She said she was “blessed beyond measure” and that God had bigger plans for her. She also thanked her fans for their support and love.

On Twitter, Kelly continued to lash out at those who were celebrating her misfortune. She told one user who mocked her: “Oksalayo for shit! Ningakuthatha Konke I will STILL BE KELLY KHUMALO ! wena uzoba ubani? A hater who rejoices on ppls challenges?Oksalayo Nala ngizodlula! Mark my words!” (No matter what! Kelly Khumalo will not testify in Senzo Meyiwa trial

Another event that dropped Kelly from its line-up was the Idols SA finale, which was scheduled for Sunday. The show’s producers said they had “taken note of the developments” in the Senzo Meyiwa trial and decided to “withdraw” Kelly’s participation.

The trial has been making headlines as new witnesses and suspects have been named in court. The prosecution has alleged that Senzo was killed by a hitman hired by his estranged wife, Mandisa Mkhize, who wanted to collect his life insurance. Kelly has denied any involvement in the murder and said she was also a victim of the shooting.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that Kelly will not be testifying in the trial as yet. NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwema said: “She is not part of our witnesses at this stage. We have not subpoenaed her.”

Kelly has previously said that she was willing to cooperate with the authorities and that she wanted justice for Senzo. She has also accused the police of bungling the investigation and failing to protect her.
