The South African government has announced through the Home Affairs that they approached on form footballers, Khama Billiat and Tendai Ndoro to offer them South African Citizenship. The move was mainly motivated by the lake of strikers/midfielders in the Bafana Bafana squad and with Ndoro and Billiat, this would be a thing of the past as the nibble footed duo has shown in the just ended premiership.

Khama Billiat, who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns scooped a handful of awards in the premiership awards, including player of the season. Ndoro has also be pivotal in the Orlando Pirates kit.

A spokesman who spoke on the move said : “Since we can not buy players from other countries to play for our Bafana Bafana, we decided to offer Khama and Tendai South African citizenship so that they can help solve our misery. South Africa has failed to assemble an effective team and we miss the glory days”

The move was however heavily criticised by many with some saying they should have trust in the local crop of players and not do favors for the duo.

It is also believed the two refused to accept the offer citing that they prefer playing for neighboring Zimbabwe and will not change that for the world. Khama was heard saying : “Even if I get offered Germany citizenship, I will always play for Zimbabwe”

Ndoro was not available for comment.

  1. Considering that are not eligible for SA anyway, having already appeared at National level for Zim, I assume this is a joke about the SA team.. Maybe a jab at their rugby and cricket teams even, having multiple foreign nationals at one point or the other
