Khanyi Mbau Loses Luxury Cars To Bank After Failing To Make Payments
South African actress and media personality Khanyi Mbau seems to have hit hard times of late after failing to make payments for her two luxury cars, a Porsche Carrera and a Mercedes Benz AMG.
According to the Sunday World, Standard Bank has since filed a lawsuit at the Joburg High Court to force Khanyi to return the luxury cars after defaulting on monthly installments.
The papers were filed by Alexandra Pesci Martins, Weir Smith Inc Attorneys on behalf of a Standard Bank at the Johannesburg High Court last week.
The bank seeks an order to cancel the installments of the former Metro FM presenter’s Porche Carrera and Mercedes-Benz AMG reads the statement.
The bank is pleading with the court to force the former Muvhango and Uzalo actress to return the luxury cars.
According to the Sunday World, Khanyi bought both vehicles for at least R1.5 Million each and was paying at least R28 000 a month for each vehicle.
However, the Covid-19 induced national lockdown seems to have affected her adversely resulting in her skipping payments for both luxury cars in March, April, and May.
She later made the outstanding payments although she is yet to pay for the month of August.
