Khosi Twala Clarifies Cash Prize Controversy After Big Brother Titans Win

Big Brother Titans winner Khosi Twala has addressed the ongoing debate surrounding her cash prize of US$100,000 (R1.8 million). This comes in response to former contestants, Blessing “Nana” Basheru and Justin Peters, raising concerns about unpaid weekly game prizes.

Taking to social media, Nana expressed her frustration, stating,

I’m gonna mention some brand names by tomorrow because they need to pay up haba 1 year after the show and you guys haven’t paid, is it fair?”

Justin echoed her sentiments, accusing sponsors of supporting new shows while neglecting their payment obligations. The allegations sparked a discussion regarding the financial compensation of contestants from the previous season.

Khosi Twala Clears the Air: Proof of Cash Prize Receipt Shared

In light of the controversy, Khosi Twala has come forward to set the record straight. To address doubts about her cash prize, she shared a screenshot of her bank statement as proof of receiving the money. In an exclusive interview with TshisaLIVE, she explained,

When I woke up this morning, I saw there was a back and forth about having received my money and all of that. When I didn’t receive my money, I was very outspoken about it, so I think it’s also fair that I make it clear.”

Khosi clarified that she did receive her prize money two months after the show, which aligned with the time frame stipulated in her contract. According to the terms she agreed upon, contestants were expected to receive their money within one to three months after the conclusion of the show. In her case, the payment was made approximately a year ago, well within the specified time frame.

While Khosi confirmed the receipt of her cash prize, she acknowledged that she couldn’t speak for others who claimed they had not been paid. The controversy surrounding unpaid prizes has raised concerns about the financial responsibilities of sponsors and the importance of honoring contractual agreements.
