After a prolonged period of tensions, Abathembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo and Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane have reconciled, ending their public disagreement. The two leaders held a crucial meeting yesterday at the Royal Nkululekweni Residence, addressing their differences privately.

Following the meeting, King Dalindyebo released a statement expressing satisfaction with the discussions, highlighting that both parties have reaffirmed their commitment to peace and cooperation.

“This meeting has resulted in a shared understanding and renewed dedication to moving forward together. The Premier and I have decided to set aside our past differences, demonstrating a unified effort to prioritize the welfare of our people.”

Tensions between the two started when King Dalindyebo accused Premier Mabuyane of being involved in an extortion scheme within the province.
