Knives Out For Enhle Mbali For Defending Phat Joe LGBTQ+ ‘Insult’

Actress Enhle Mbali has received a wave of criticism after siding with media personality, Phat Joe, whose new show sparked a lot of controversies.  Phat Joe’s new show, Cheeky Palate is currently under fire for encouraging homophobic ideologies.

Enhle Mbali stuck out her neck for Phat Joe saying people should give him a break and South Africans are just too sensitive.

She tweeted:

“Let’s give Phat Joe a break. He’s amazing on screen. Is SA To sensitive?”.

Unfortunately,Twitter did not take lightly her sentiments and demanded to know why she was supporting someone who insulted the LGBTQ+ community.

Enhle Mbali has usually steered away from Twitter controversy and made inflammatory statements, but it seems this time she put her foot in her mouth. Tweeps were wondering why she jumped to defend Phat Joe.

One tweep asked”

“Enhle Mbali really wants to take smoke for Phat Joe? Phat Joe?!”.

Naturally, Enhle Mbali’s previous online misdemeanors were immediately brought up.

One tweep brought the issue with Black Coffee to light, reminding her of a hand joke she once made which many people viewed as a low key way of throwing shade on her ex-husband’s disability.

“What do u expect from someone who mocks people with disabilities? I will never forget how she played with a black hand on set demonizing #BlackCoffee. Enhle Mbali is trash.” said a tweep.

Phat Joe drew the wrong kind of attention with the first episode of Cheeky Palate, amid allegations of homophobia on the first episode..
The show’s guests included, Gerry Elsdon, singer Zwai Bala, traditional healer Gogo Dineo Ndlanzi, businesswoman Nobuntu Webster and motivational speaker Joshua Maponga who offered their controversial opinions on spiritually and homosexuality.

“It is in the Bible. The word of God is very specific … The bottom line is the word of God is very clear that homosexuality is a sin. Having said that, the first command is to love … And in that it veins it wouldn’t matter who you are, homosexual or not, there is always place for you at the cross,”.

Phat Joe was put under fire for encouraging hate against the LGBTQ+ community.
