Victims Forced Into Vehicle
According to The Citizen, the two victims were talking along the main road when they were approached by two armed suspects.
The woman had reportedly been walking home after drinking alcohol at a neighbour’s house when she encountered the man, who was a friend of her boyfriend.
The male victim told Rusa that the suspects had been dropped off by a white vehicle before confronting them with a firearm.
The pair were allegedly forced into the boot of a vehicle and driven along Buffelsdraai Road.
Suspects Demand Money
The suspects reportedly stopped during the journey and assaulted the victims while demanding money.
The woman then told them about a safe containing cash at her residence, prompting the suspects to take the victims to the property.
Once there, the suspects allegedly forced their way inside by breaking open a burglar guard.
They reportedly took a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash and a licensed firearm belonging to the woman’s boyfriend, who was at work at the time.
R10 000 Transferred From Bank Account
The suspects allegedly went further by forcing the woman to unlock her cellphone and open her banking application.
They checked her account balance before transferring R10 000 from her bank account.
Meanwhile, one of the suspects remained outside with the male victim, who was robbed of his cellphone and forced underneath a vehicle.
The other suspect stayed inside with the woman, who reportedly lost consciousness during the ordeal before later regaining it.
