Her educational journey included completing high school in her local region. Subsequently, she was awarded a bursary from Carnival City to pursue a somatology course in London. Impressively, she holds 19 qualifications spanning diverse fields such as car, logistics, beauty, fire fighting, health, and safety, which she proudly claims make her the most educated artist in South Africa.

Music Career

Lady Du’s musical odyssey is deeply entrenched in her family’s musical legacy, with her father, DJ Choc, a renowned R&B DJ, and her uncle, DJ Zan D, playing pivotal roles in nurturing her talent.

Her musical journey commenced at the tender age of 9 when Lady Du embarked on her DJing career, refining her skills under the tutelage of her family. This early initiation bore fruit as she secured her first DJ competition victory.

While initially pursuing music, she briefly explored a career as a stomatologist and skin therapist in the UK before her pivotal move to South Africa in 2012, where she wholeheartedly devoted herself to her musical ambitions.

Despite the challenges presented by the music industry, Lady Du even took on the logistics manager role before eventually leaving that behind in 2016.

It wasn’t until 2020 that her career skyrocketed when Mr. JazziQ introduced her to the world of Amapiano music. This marked her breakthrough, and within a year, she achieved global superstar status.

Throughout her journey, Lady Du’s unwavering passion for music, inspired by her father, DJ Choc, propelled her to become a music sensation in her late 20s, resulting in a discography featuring hits like “Catalia,” “Tchukutsha,” “Woza,” “Batlao Hurda,” “Siyashada,” “Government,” “Ha Omorata,” “Freeway,” “Aniyeke Ukuloya,” and more.

Aside from her music career, Lady Du is a successful business owner. In early 2023, she ventured into the beauty care industry and inaugurated her WAWA La Beauty salon in KwaThema, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.

Lady Du shared a video on her Instagram account showcasing the salon’s elegant interior. She revealed that her dream of opening a salon had finally come true, stemming from her post-school studies in beauty and her global experiences working on a cruise ship.

She aspires to bring the “Sandton experience” to her community and empower individuals through her new business endeavour.
