Orlando Pirates have been quick to react to reports that captain Oupa Manyisa died in a car crash.
The Bucs took to twitter on Monday evening to reassure fans that rumours suggesting the midfielder had died in a car crash were completely false.
“The rumours that Oupa Manyisa passed away in a car accident this afternoon are malicious & COMPLETELY false! Our skipper is alive and well,” read a statement released by the club.
“We have been in contact with Oupa and he is just as amazed at his newly-found status as is everyone at the club.
“Oupa is with family and friends watching the PSL Awards. Those responsible for spreading this rumour are out of order.
“We appeal to all Buccaneers, supporters of football & media to allay their fears and rest easy in the comfort that Oupa Manyisa is well.”
