Well-known Lesedi FM personality Nkunyana Nkunyana, professionally known as Skuzabell, faces legal trouble after being arrested on charges related to beating up his estranged wife.

Reportedly, Nkunyana was granted bail of R1,000 following his appearance in the Bloemfontein magistrate’s court last Tuesday.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Nkunyana had recently separated from his wife, prompting him to move out of their shared residence in Arkata to a nearby location in Raceway.

The incident that led to Skuzabell beating up wife

It is alleged that over the weekend, Nkunyana visited the matrimonial home to retrieve a set of valuable sofas. However, a confrontation ensued when his wife questioned the necessity of taking the sofas, especially considering the couple’s two children were using them.

During the argument, it is claimed that Nkunyana resorted to physical violence, allegedly striking his estranged wife multiple times in the face.

The incident escalated as Nkunyana reportedly directed his associates to remove the sofas from the premises before departing.

Subsequently, his estranged wife filed a police report, leading to Nkunyana’s arrest and subsequent release on bail.

Nkunyana, a popular radio host renowned for his humour and quick wit, hosts the well-known show “Jwale Ke Nako” on Fridays.

Skuzabell and wife’s marital issues

According to insiders, the couple’s marital issues came to light after allegations of infidelity surfaced on social media, causing strain in their relationship.

Responding to queries, Nkunyana denied the accusations, expressing his commitment and love for his family. The case is set for further proceedings on May 2.

Confirming the arrest, NPA Free State spokesperson Mojalefa Senokoatsane stated that Nkunyana was indeed taken into custody, and a protection order has been issued against him.
