Limpopo ANCYL PEC Member Nkateko Mbhoma Gunned Down En Route to NGC Meeting
A member of the African National Congress Youth League’s Limpopo provincial executive committee (PEC), Nkateko Mbhoma has been shot and killed.
The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday while he was travelling to Kimberley for the organisation’s 2nd National General Council (NGC) meeting.

ANCYL Confirms Death of Limpopo PEC Member Nkateko Mbhoma
The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) has confirmed the death of Nkateko Mbhoma, a member of its Limpopo provincial executive committee (PEC).
According to the ANCYL, the incident occurred in Leeudoringstad, outside Klerksdorp in the North West province. Mbhoma was reportedly travelling in a vehicle with other Youth League members at the time of the shooting.
A fellow PEC member who was in the same car told the SABC that the incident took place on Klerksdorp Road.
Shock Ahead of Key NGC Meeting
Mbhoma was en route to the much-anticipated ANCYL National General Council, set to run from Wednesday to Friday in Kimberley.
The gathering is expected to deliberate on key youth leadership issues within the ANC and broader political strategies ahead of the 2026 local elections.
