Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, seems to constantly find himself entangled in controversy, and this time, it’s in Botswana. Whether it’s an altercation with fans, disruptive behaviour at events, or legal issues, trouble seems to follow the Limpopo sensation.

Botswana Gig Debacle

An insider in Botswana has disclosed that Shebeshxt may face legal repercussions for his failure to honour a fully paid gig at the Simply Piano Music show in December last year. Despite having over 50 bookings across the country that month, including two in Botswana, Shebeshxt failed to show up for the event. Boxyard Events, the organizers, filed a case against him, leading to a temporary order from the Lobatse Magistrates Court, which could result in his imprisonment at the Botswana Prisons Service Facility if he enters the country.

A close associate of Shebeshxt expressed concerns, stating, “He might be arrested. He is used to being arrested, but he doesn’t want to go to jail for missing a booking or have his passport taken away.”

History of No-Shows

This incident isn’t isolated; Shebeshxt has a track record of missing gigs. In a previous occurrence in December, he failed to perform at the Red Square DJ Knock-Out event alongside Skomota despite being paid in full. This led to the event’s failure, causing significant financial loss to the organizers. Another instance was during the Easter weekend at Ejays Lounge, where he failed to show up for a scheduled performance. Despite attempts to reach him, Shebeshxt’s wife and manager, Kholofelo Chuene, provided no substantial explanation for his absence.

Kholofelo Chuene declined to comment on the allegations, stating, “He is busy, he won’t respond, no comment,” before ending the call.
