LIMPOPO MAN CHARGED WITH TODDLER’S RAPE

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson for the Limpopo Division Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi said Sipho Mokwena from Kgautswan, Limpopo allegedly raped the child on 18 December.

Mokwena reportedly saw the victim playing in the street with other children and lured her to his house and raped her.

After the alleged rape, he sent the child away and gave her R2 to “buy some snacks,” said Dzhangi.

A neighbour saw the victim leaving Mokwena’s house and asked the toddler “why she was not walking well.”

The victim’s mother was alerted to the situation and the three-year-old was taken to a clinic the next day.

“Later it was confirmed that she was raped by Mokwena who was arrested by police,” said the NPA spokesperson.

The Limpopo man’s case was postponed to Thursday, 30 December for further investigation and a formal bail application.
