A quiet evening in Denstaat village, Limpopo, was shattered by a violent confrontation that has left a young woman hospitalised and a teenager in police custody. The incident, which unfolded this past Friday night, stemmed from a dispute over a young man, culminating in an alleged attack with scalding water and a glass bottle. The victim, a 20-year-old woman, was reportedly asleep when the peace was broken.
According to police reports, the suspect, a 17-year-old girl, stormed into the room where the victim was sleeping. The confrontation was triggered by images the teenager claimed to have discovered on her boyfriend’s mobile device. What began as a verbal altercation swiftly escalated into a physically violent assault that has shocked the local community.
Teenager Arrested After Vicious Assault On Love Rival
Detailing the harrowing event, Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba provided a stark account of the alleged assault. He confirmed the sequence of events that led to the serious injuries sustained by the older woman.

“It is alleged the suspect woke the victim and confronted her about photographs she allegedly found on her boyfriend’s cellphone,” Colonel Ledwaba stated.
He then described the brutal nature of the attack, saying,
“During the heated confrontation, the suspect allegedly poured hot water over the victim and struck her several times on the head and face with a bottle.”
The force of the blows and the severity of the scalding required the victim to be rushed to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
Teenager Faces Attempted Murder Charge Following Hospitalisation
Following the incident, police were summoned to the scene and subsequently arrested the 17-year-old suspect. She now faces the grave charge of attempted murder and is scheduled to make her first appearance before the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court.
