Early Life
Lunga Shabalala, a notable South African actor, TV presenter, and model, was born and raised in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He attended Maritzburg College, where he shared classes with fellow talents such as South African actor Zenzelisphesihle Xulu and singer Mario Ogle. Despite pursuing a diploma in Town Planning after completing his schooling, Lunga’s true passion for the arts and entertainment industry led him to shift his focus towards a career in the limelight.
Career Beginnings and Breakthroughs
Upon relocating to Johannesburg, Lunga Shabalala embarked on his journey in the television industry with a Coca-Cola commercial. His modelling triumph in the 2010 Calvin Klein competition, Represent South Africa, showcased his multifaceted talents and garnered widespread recognition. However, Lunga’s true breakthrough came in 2011 when he won a nationwide search to become the host of the renowned SABC 1 entertainment show, Selimathunzi.
