Calvin passed away on Friday, and his family has asked for privacy during this difficult time. Makhadzi Entertainment, the singer’s record label, shared a heartfelt statement about Calvin’s passing. Lucky Tshilmandlila, the MD of Makhadzi Entertainment, remembered Calvin as a great performer and a beloved member of their team. They promised to honour his memory.
“It is with heavy hearts and great difficulty that we announce the passing of Ntuthuso Kelvin Silosana “Calvin Candiano”. Calvin passed away on the 24th of November 2023. Calvin was a brother and great performer that we enjoyed working with, we as Makhadzi Entertainment will assure that his memory lives on and that he is honoured,” Lucky Tshilmandlila (Makhadzi Entertainment MD).
Makhadzi Entertainment is in contact with the family and will share more details once everything is settled.

Makhadzi Stands Strong Amid Controversy Over Skomota’s Appearance
In another development, Makhadzi stood up for fellow artist Skomota after Eugene Khoza criticized Skomota’s appearance at the recent South Africa Music Awards ceremony.
Khoza’s comments left many confused, and Makhadzi took to social media (formerly known as Twitter) to address this.
She urged people to celebrate what brings joy to others without trying to diminish anyone else’s shine. Makhadzi emphasized unity and rejected any form of tribalism, standing firm in her support for Skomota and advocating for inclusivity in the music industry.
