A Mpumalanga man was arrested after he was found in bed with exhumed human bones.
Authorities in Mpumalanga have apprehended a 29-year-old suspect following a macabre incident involving the unlawful disturbance of ancestral graves in the Swalala community. The arrest occurred after investigators made a chilling discovery at the man’s residence.
Man found in bed with exhumed human bones
Local law enforcement responded swiftly to a concerned citizen’s report on Monday afternoon regarding vandalized burial sites in the Masoyi area. Upon inspection, officers confirmed two graves, containing the remains of the suspect’s father and grandfather since 2010, showed signs of recent tampering.
The investigation took a surreal turn when police located the suspect in his RDP housing unit, allegedly asleep beside what forensic experts believe to be human skeletal remains. Preliminary evidence suggests these bones originated from the violated gravesites.
