Man Kills Own Mom, Walks Around With Her Head In His Bag.
A North West man has been arrested for murdering and beheading his own mom.
After committing the crime in Pretoria, the 25-year-old man then traveled to Mahikeng with the head inside his bag. He reportedly spent close to a week moving around with the decapitated head.
He was arrested in Montshiwa Stad village in Mahikeng in the North West Province.
According to the spokesperson for the North West police Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, the suspect was arrested after the police received a tipoff from concerned members of the public.
“Members of the flying squad acted on a tip-off about a suspect who killed his mother and was carrying her head in a bag.
“On arrival at the scene, the police found the bag in the suspect’s possession. A human head was found inside the bag,” said Mokgwabone.
“The suspect allegedly admitted to killing his mother on Monday, September 7 2020, in Hercules, Pretoria. He was then arrested.”
The suspect is due to face charges in the Molopo magistrate’s court.
His case will be transferred to Pretoria where the crime was allegedly committed.
It is not clear what transpired leading up to the disturbing incident. The police are investigating the matter, trying to ascertain the motive for the heinous crime as well as to recreate events leading up to the killing.
“The motive of the incident is unknown and investigation is under way,” said Mokgwabone.
