Former South African president and world famous icon Nelson Mandela’s entire inheritance has been allocated to his beneficiaries as was requested in his will, former Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke announced on Friday.

The list of 40 beneficiaries announced at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Houghton, north of Johannesburg, included his long-time driver, three members of his staff at his private home, as well as all the high schools and universities he attended while growing up.

Here is a list of some of Mandela’s beneficiaries and what has been distributed to them:

His late son Makgatho Mandela’s children:
Mbuso Mandela – R3 122 220
Andilo Mandela – R 3 122 220
Ndaba Mandela – R 3 122 220

His daughter Makaziwe Mandela’s children:
Dumani Mandela – R100 000
Tukwini Mandela – R100 000
Adjao Amuah – R100 000
Kweko Amuah – R100 000

His daughter Zenani Mandela-Dlamini’s children:
Zinhle Mandela – R100 000
Zaziwe Mandela – R100 000
Zamaswazi Mandela – R100 000

His daughter Zindzi Mandela’s children:
Bambatha Mandela – R100 000
Zondwa Mandela – R100 000
Zwelabo Mandela – R100 000
Zoleka Mandela – R100 000

His daughter Zamaswazi’s child:
Zozuko Mandela – R100 000

Mandela also allocated a large sum of money to the children of third wife Graça Machel’s children, who were born to the late president of Mozambique, Samora Machel. Josina Machel and Malengande Machel will each receive R3m.

He also left R100 000 each to Samora Machel’s six children born from a previous marriage. The six are Joselina, Samora Junior, Manthyane, Atwane, Turila, and Olivia Machel.

Among the beneficiaries is a list of staff members who worked for Mandela. These include long-time driver Michael Maponya, his assistant Zelda La Grange, and Thoko Mavuso who worked under the former president for 21 years. Each of them has been awarded R50 000.

Fort Hare University and the University of Witwatersrand will each receive R100 000, while the Qunu Secondary School and Orlando West High School have also been awarded R100 000 each.
