Master KG Bags Best African Act at 2020  MTV Europe Music Awards

We’re international now Baby! Perhaps that should be the new intro to all his songs now that the globe has caught on to the Limpopo talent and hit maker! Master, Master KG won the Best African Act at this years EMA awards.

The Europe MTV EMA awards aired on Sunday the 8th of November, and while the artist could not be there to receive the award, he gave a heart -warming acceptance speech via his social media. At the height of the lockdown, South Africans and the globe were seen dancing to, singing along and re-inventing the hit Jerusalema.

The song took the entire world on a whirlwind of euphoric celebration and camaraderie. For a while it was kumbaya across the globe, all thanks to Jerusalema. With that said, many people were as really annoyed by the song, one could not escape it. It was on every social media platform, and with each celebrity “discovering the song”, Master KG followers and lovers shared the videos and joined in on the joy of discovery.

The 24-year-old has been hailed as a superstar, the world over and has won the hearts of many with his songs. The popular Jerusalema also has a remix where Nigerian pop artist Burna Boy lends his voice to a verse. On Heritage Day, the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa asked the country of his citizens to join in on the #JerusalemaDanceChallenge, a phenomenon that took over social media and had South Africans living the Rainbow nation dream.

It is no doubt that this star is set to shine beyond Africa and if it was not for COVID-19, Master Kg would have probably been travelling the world and enjoying fully the success of this song. In his acceptance speech, Master KG thanked Nomcebo, who is the lady who lends her sultry vocals to the song, his team and most importantly thanked his fan, all over the world! All hail the Master. Congratulations to Master KG, to the world and beyond!
