MaWhoo has threatened legal action against music promoter and agent Edmond “Eddz” Mafokwana after failing to appear at the Blouberg Spring Festival in Limpopo on September 28, 2024. The missed appearance has led to a public confrontation, with accusations flying between both parties.
Despite this arrangement, MaWhoo did not attend the event, sparking disappointment from the event organizers, who publicly voiced their frustration. This prompted a social media firestorm, with accusations aimed at the musician for allegedly failing to show up despite receiving payment.

MaWhoo’s Defense: “I Was Never Booked”
In response to the public criticism, MaWhoo issued a strong statement denying that she had never been officially booked for the festival. According to her, neither she nor her team received any payment for the event, and as such, she was not obligated to attend.
I humbly ask Mr. Mafokwana to cease spreading false and damaging information regarding my involvement in this event. These claims are untrue and harmful to my reputation and career.

Mawhoo accuses music promoter
MaWhoo further accused Eddz of defamation, claiming that the allegations surrounding her failure to attend the festival were causing significant harm to both her professional standing and personal well-being.
