Mihlali Ndamase Fears for Her Life After Man She Rejected Stalks and Harasses Her
South African influencer and beauty entrepreneur Mihlali Ndamase has publicly raised alarm over her safety, saying she fears for her life following months of stalking, harassment and intimidation by a man she has identified as Michael Brits.
In a detailed statement shared on her platforms, Ndamase said she decided to speak out as an act of self-preservation, stressing that remaining silent had become dangerous not only for her, but also for her family.
Stalking and Intimidation Claims
According to Mihlali Ndamase, the ordeal began after she rejected unwanted advances from Brits, after which his behaviour allegedly escalated into what she described as obsessive and frightening conduct.
She claims she has personally seen him following her, appearing uninvited at her workplace, and showing up in places where she was seated or parked, creating the impression that her movements were being monitored. Ndamase further alleges that her privacy was repeatedly violated, with people allegedly paid to trail her and take photographs without her consent.
Family Drawn Into the Ordeal
The influencer said the situation has extended beyond her alone, with members of her family allegedly being approached in public by strangers connected to the harassment.
She expressed deep concern for their wellbeing, stating that the ongoing intimidation has left her living in fear and constantly looking over her shoulder.
Claims of Online Smear Campaign
Ndamase also accused her alleged stalker of spreading false and damaging information about her through blogs and online platforms. She said some media outlets amplified the claims without verification, resulting in reputational harm and further compromising her safety.
She warned that presenting unverified allegations as fact can have real-world consequences, particularly when it fuels hostility and misinformation.
Legal Action Underway
Ndamase confirmed that she is currently engaging with law enforcement and pursuing legal remedies to protect herself.
She said her decision to speak publicly was not driven by a desire for attention or sympathy, but by the need to ensure that her concerns are formally recorded and widely known.
“As a person with influence, I understand scrutiny. Influence however does not equal consent. A woman does not owe access to her life her body or her time because she was pursued . Rejection is not provocation. Silence has cost me my peace. Speaking now is an act of self preservation. We need to come to a point where men understand that courting a woman does not entitle them to you or your body. No means no!,” reads part of the statement.
