Minnie Dlamini Biography
Minnie Dlamini is a South African on-air personality, actress, and model who rose to fame as the host of the SABC 1 Friday live-music show Live Amp in 2010. She has since co-hosted several local and international award ceremonies, starred in various TV shows and films, and launched her own fashion and skincare lines. Minnie is also the founder of the Minnie Dlamini Foundation, a charity organisation that aims to help young South African girls access quality education.

Born as Minenhle Dlamini on July 7, 1990, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Province of South Africa, Minnie is the daughter of Jabulani and Queen Dlamini. She also has a brother named Khosini Dlamini. Interestingly, she acquired the nickname “Minnie” from her family during her childhood.

Her educational journey took her to Northlands Girls’ High School in Durban, where she not only excelled academically but also actively participated in sports, drama, and choir activities. Later, she pursued higher education at the University of Cape Town, where she studied film, media, drama, and economics, ultimately earning her bachelor’s degree in 2011.

While Minnie was still a student at the University of Cape Town, her talent shone through when she auditioned for a presenter role on SABC 1’s music show, LIVE. Her captivating presence and charisma won her the role in June 2010, and she became an instant sensation among viewers.

The Actress
Aside from her successful career as a presenter, Minnie Dlamini ventured into acting. She made her acting debut in 2010 on Generations, followed by her lead role in The Wild from 2011 to 2013. Her performance on Rockville earned her critical acclaim and a Best Actress nomination at the SAFTAs in 2015.
Minnie also graced the screens in various TV shows and films, demonstrating her versatility as an actress.

Minnie’s stunning looks and poise led her to grace the covers of numerous magazines and become the face of well-known brands like LEGIT, Motions, Samsung, Brutal Fruit, and Jaguar. Minnie Dlamini’s Personal Life
In July 2017, Minnie Dlamini tied the knot with TV producer and director Quinton Jones in a traditional wedding ceremony. Their extravagant white wedding, held on September 16, 2017, at Lourensford Wine Estate in Cape Town, was televised as a three-part reality docu-series titled “Minnie Dlamini: Becoming Mrs. Jones” and became a record-breaking hit on Vuzu Amp.In September 2020, the couple joyfully announced Minnie’s pregnancy on Instagram, and they welcomed their son, Netha Makhosini Jones, on November 16, 2020.
Divorce
However, in early 2022, Minnie and Jones filed for divorce, marking the end of their four-year marriage. Rumours circulated regarding Minnie’s alleged affair with businessman Edwin Sodi, but she denied the allegations, citing that the couple had grown apart and decided to amicably end their marriage.
