Media personality Moshe Ndiki has opened up about his tumultuous marriage to singer Phelo Bala during a candid interview on the Engineering Your Life podcast with Lungelo. In a series of surprising admissions, Moshe described Phelo as someone who ultimately wasted his time and failed to meet his expectations in their relationship.

A Rocky Start Despite Good Intentions

Reflecting on how the relationship began, Moshe admitted that both he and Phelo had shared visions and dreams. However, those initial hopes quickly clashed with deeper personal struggles.

I was ready for love because I knew who I was. Unfortunately, Phelo was still fighting his own battles.

He added that despite his best efforts to support Phelo’s healing journey, things spiraled out of control.

“He cheated on me seven times with different people”

Feeling hurt and betrayed, Moshe admitted that he also cheated in retaliation.

“I did it to prove that I could do the same. I tolerated so much and sacrificed myself for the relationship. In the end, I realized it was a waste of my time.”

A Wedding Without Tradition

Moshe explained that although they were officially married at the Department of Home Affairs, there was no traditional wedding or lobola payment involved.

“We got married at Home Affairs, but his family didn’t even offer me a braai pack or stewing beef. Lobola was always something we talked about for the future, but it never happened,” he said.

According to Moshe, he sensed that the relationship was doomed months before they officially separated.

“I knew something wasn’t right about three to four months before it ended. But I held on because of the future plans we had—like building a home and having children together. Looking back, I realize those plans were just an illusion. Even after the breakup, I decided to move forward with those plans on my own.”

Healing and Moving Forward

While Moshe admitted he is still healing from the emotional aftermath of the breakup, he remains optimistic about his personal growth.

“It’s been tough, but I’m slowly crawling out of that dark space. I’m learning to set boundaries and take my time to get to know myself again. This experience has taught me to be more cautious in future relationships.”
