Bonang and Euphonik
In 2012 Bonang Matheba laid charges of assault against her then boyfriend DJ Euphonik. In court papers Bonang detailed how Euphonik had allegedly “abused me physically and emotionally” throughout their relationship. While the couple briefly reconciled‚ only to later breakup‚ the allegations were again brought into the public sphere with Euphonik’s inclusion in the Marie Claire campaign of no violence against women called In Her Shoes. After years of keeping mum‚ he broke his silence on the matter‚ denying that he had ever physically abused Bonang. “Did I ever physically abuse my then girlfriend? No. Not at all. This she lied about. On the night of the alleged abuse‚ we had a heated argument. I had turned to leave when she tried to stop me. I pushed her body away from me and walked out. She was not injured when I left so I can’t comment about where her facial wounds came from as I was not there to witness that.”
Minnie Dlamini and Itumeleng Khune
They were the darlings of the Mzansi with their relationship cementing a powerhouse collaboration between the sports and entertainment industries. At the height of their romance‚ Minnie told YOU magazine that she wanted to get married and have a family with her soccer star bae. Cheating rumours refused to go away and months after their split‚ Minnie spoke about her heartbreak to True Love magazine.“It happened and it hurt me tremendously. I am completely broken as a result. In December last year rumours of a split between Cassper and Boity hit the newswires. At the time‚ they remained mum on the allegations‚ only for Boity to later confirm that they had parted ways. In an interview with True Love ‚ she slammed rumours that Cassper had cheated on her‚ explaining that she had gone through phases where she was “angry and cried.” The ex-lovers then appeared on Lip Synch Battle Africa where they competed against each other to win the belt. Boity was victorious‚ but only hours later Cassper released a track‚ Super Ex/Power Couple. In it‚ he claims that he never knew that Boity had told the press about their split. “You ain’t really have to go to the papers behind my back and only tell me when the cover came out.
