Mzansi tweeps are throwing stones at the relationship between DJ Shimza and ANC’s Athi Geleba after they showed off an intimate moment online.

DJ Shimza and Athi Geleba have been in a romantic relationship. The world-renowned DJ and music producer confirmed their relationship after rumours circulated about them.
Athi Gebela, who serves as the spokesperson for the presidency, shared a cosy photo of themselves on social media recently, and the couple’s affectionate display smote fans. Shimza and Athi have been together for over ten years.

However, their union has not been without controversy.
In 2021, DJ Shimza filed a lawsuit against Nota Baloyi for defamation. Nota tweeted that DJ Shimza was corruptly benefiting from business opportunities that could have helped the people in Tembisa.
The controversy stemmed from Shimza’s Tembisa restaurant, The Hang Awt, which gained attention when it was chosen as the location for a cook-off involving the then Minister of Tourism, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, and media personality Somizi Mhlongo.

Nota claimed that Shimza’s suspected romantic relationship with Athi Geleba, who works as head of digital communications in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s office, led to him receiving a lucrative government tender.

Shimza demanded an apology, retraction of statements, and R500,000 in damages. The Johannesburg High Court ruled in favour of DJ Shimza, ordering Nota to pay R200,000 in damages for defamatory statements. The court also slapped Nota with a cost order for Shimza’s legal bills.
Mzanzi Hurls Mud At Shimza And Athi Geleba
Tweeps had no kind words after Athi showed off DJ Shimza online. Her Instagram fans had glowing words. However, after blogger Musa Khawula reshared the picture on X, some had unkind words.
