Nasty C Blasts Government After 9 Women Found Dead In Ekurhuleni
South African rapper Nasty C has hit out at government leadership following the discovery of nine women’s bodies in and around Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, saying the country risks remaining trapped in a cycle of violent crime followed by hashtags and public outrage.
His comments came after police confirmed on 17 September 2026 that a ninth woman’s body had been discovered in Dawn Park, Boksburg. The South African Police Service (SAPS) says a multidisciplinary team has been assembled to investigate the deaths.
Nasty C Calls For Government Action
Nasty C expressed his frustration in a social media post on 18 September, arguing that meaningful change would require action from those responsible for making decisions at government level.
The rapper wrote:
“We’re gonna be stuck in this loop of crime & hashtags for a very long time until someone breaks it.”
He then pointed towards political leadership, adding:
“And that someone is in the office where they make decisions on how this country is ran.”
Nasty C also said he wanted to see a safer South Africa for women, children and the wider public.
“If those guys really cared, we’d see real change and our country would be a much safer place for women, for children, for everyone.”

Police Intensify Ekurhuleni Murder Investigation
The ninth body was found on 17 September, after eight other women had been found dead across Ekurhuleni over roughly two months. Police have urged residents to provide information that could assist investigators.
Authorities have increased police visibility in affected areas, while specialist investigators and forensic experts have been brought into the probe. SAPS has also warned that investigators have yet to establish whether the cases are connected.
The government has also publicly responded to the killings. On 18 September, Minister in the Presidency Sindisiwe Chikunga called for stronger action against gender-based violence and femicide, saying: “Enough is enough.”
Nasty C ended his message with a blunt expression of frustration:
“We need them to stand up and do right by our women and our country. Until then, the cycle continues. This sh*t is exhausting.”
The investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding each death and identify those responsible.
