Upon arriving home, Oberon found paramedics attempting to revive Kaone in his bedroom. Despite their efforts, Kaone was sadly pronounced dead shortly after. Oberon allowed the paramedic to use his phone to inform Lesego of their son’s passing. Shortly after, the police arrived, alerted by the complex’s head of security.
Throughout this period, Oberon continued to keep Lesego updated. He accompanied Kaone’s body to the morgue, with his father and uncle by his side, where they started the necessary paperwork for the burial arrangements.
Birth Certificate Complications
The following day, at the mortuary, Oberon was instructed to bring Kaone’s original birth certificate. When he reached out to Lesego for the document, she reportedly refused to provide it, and informed the police that she would not travel to Gauteng where her son’s body was.
As a result, Oberon applied for a reissued birth certificate and proceeded to identify Kaone’s body with the assistance of his brothers. Later that day, Lesego contacted Oberon from Centurion Mall, requesting transportation to go identify Kaone’s body. However, by that time, the identification process had already been completed.

Funeral Arrangements and Lesego’s Absence
The following day, Lesego reportedly inquired about the time of the funeral, expressing an interest in viewing her son’s body. Oberon provided her with the time, but she ultimately did not attend the funeral. Subsequently, the police called Oberon to confirm whether Lesego was welcome at the service, to which he assured them that she was. However, she did not attend, and Kaone was laid to rest without her presence.
In conclusion, Oberon stated that he is willing to cooperate fully with any organization involved in Lesego’s case in order to help her find closure. He expressed his commitment to ensuring that the truth surrounding Kaone’s passing is clear and transparent.
