The South African Police Service says they have indefinitely suspended eight police officers who were robbed by two unarmed men while sleeping on duty on Sunday night for gross incompetence and dragging the good name of the force into disrepute.
The SAPS refused to comment further on the incident saying the matter was delicate and more details at this juncture could jeopardise investigations.
But one of the victims of the mysterious incident told iMzansi on condition of anonymity that their bosses were just being harsh as this was a clear use of muti. He insisted they were awake, but that they felt powerless as if they were in a trance when the two men whom he described as very ‘dark in complexion’ walked into the station. ” We were zombified or something like that because we would just sheepishly follow their orders. This is the work of muti no doubt. Our superiors should contact Prophet Mboro or Bushiri for assistance rather than suspending us.
Reports are that two men who were unarmed, came into the police station while the 8 police men who were on duty were sleeping and tied them with cable ties.
It is said that the men did not steal anything, they just tied the 8 armed cops, made copies of their CV’s and ID’s, certified their ID copies, took pictures of the police men, then vanished
The poor police officers, were discovered in the morning by their colleagues.
