Media personality Pabi Moloi’s estranged husband Ruan Adams has escalated their divorce proceedings with a shocking demand for paternity tests in court.
The relationship reportedly deteriorated quickly, with Adams asserting Moloi excluded him from the birth experience, refused to list him on the birth certificate and subsequently denied their marriage’s validity.

Court documents reveal Adams has petitioned the Johannesburg High Court to compel Moloi to undergo DNA testing, asserting there’s reasonable doubt about his biological connection to their child. The legal filing controversially names television presenter Christopher Jafta as the potential biological father.

“I’ve maintained suspicions that [the child] might biologically belong to Christopher Jafta, with whom the respondent had a relationship during our time together,” Adams declared in sworn affidavits.
Legal Battle Over Parental Rights
The former YFM presenter’s alleged attempts to restrict Adams’ access to the child, currently supervised by social workers, reportedly fueled his suspicions. Adams maintains the DNA results will determine his next legal steps:
“Should paternity be confirmed, I’ll petition the court to amend the birth records. The respondent’s behavior has created legitimate doubts that require resolution.”
The conflict originated when Adams initiated divorce proceedings in May 2022, seeking parental rights and asset division from Moloi’s substantial property portfolio. Moloi’s counterclaim reportedly disputes the marriage’s existence, complicating the legal presumption of paternity within wedlock.

Adams’ legal team cites Section 37 of the Children’s Act, which permits courts to consider a mother’s refusal to test when assessing credibility. The case continues as the High Court evaluates whether to mandate the controversial DNA testing.
