According to a friend who spoke to ZiMoja, Bongani had been on an intense partying spree before the fight broke out, resulting in severe injuries and significant blood loss.

“It was bad – he had to be admitted because he lost a lot of blood,” the friend disclosed.

The source said Bongani got hurt on an already existing scar that he got last year when he was stabbed in the arm by an unknown man at a traffic light in Randburg, Johannesburg.

Bongani is expected to be discharged on Monday afternoon but has been available for comment.

“We don’t know how it started, but we saw an exchange of words and then fists flying. Bongani can’t fight so he was beaten up.’

The friend added that Bongani would be discharged on Monday afternoon. Bongani could not be reached for comment.

Bongani Fassie Blows R400k

Just weeks ago, ZiMoja reported on Bongani’s “rockstar” lifestyle, detailing how he allegedly burned through R400,000 in only two months. The source claimed he had taken his children, Brenda and Bongani, away from his on-and-off partner, Buhle, last year, and the children have reportedly not attended school since.

After exhausting his funds, Bongani was reportedly locked out of his Fourways apartment over unpaid rent of R17,500. Since then, he and his two children have been staying with friends until he could secure assistance from family friend Sello “Chicco” Twala.

Sources revealed that Bongani has not only spent his mother’s royalty earnings but also taken out loans with the expectation of future payouts.
