Four Pakistani Spaza Shop Owners Shot Dead In Chloorkop
Local reports said the four men had closed their shops and were travelling home together when they were ambushed near the intersection of Zuurfontein and Orangerivier roads in Chloorkop.
The social media account MDN News reported:
“Four Pakistani nationals who owned spaza shops in Tembisa were shot and killed in an apparent ambush in Kempton Park on Saturday evening.”
The account added:
“The victims were reportedly travelling home after closing their businesses when unknown gunmen opened fire on their vehicle at the corner of Zuurfontein and Orangerivier roads in Chloorkop. All four men died at the scene.”
Local media, including Kempton Express, also reported that police were investigating a targeted attack after four men believed to be Pakistani nationals were fatally shot on Zuurfontein Road on Saturday evening.
SAPS Investigating Motive Behind Fatal Shooting
Police have confirmed that a murder case has been opened following the shooting.
According to reports, officers are working to establish the motive for the attack.
MDN News said:
“Police have opened a murder investigation and are working to determine the motive behind the attack. No arrests have been made, and authorities have appealed to anyone with information to assist the investigation.”
Police also urged members of the public not to take the law into their own hands as investigations continue.
