Popular Nigerian Socialite Elena Jessica Dies Weeks After Second BBL Surgery
Popular socialite and social media personality Elena Jessica has died weeks after undergoing a second Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure, leaving her family, friends and followers mourning her sudden passing.
The influencer, known online for showcasing a lavish lifestyle and glamorous posts, reportedly developed severe complications after the cosmetic surgery and endured weeks of medical challenges before her death.

Complications After Second Procedure
According to local reports, Elena underwent the second BBL procedure on February 6 at Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
The surgery involved liposuction and the transfer of fat to enhance her hips, backside and calves. However, complications reportedly began shortly after the procedure.
WhatsApp conversations shared by her sister indicated that just two days after the operation, Elena started experiencing severe pain in the areas where the surgery had been performed.
Medical tests later revealed alarming results, including an extremely high white blood cell count and dangerously low blood levels.
Multiple Surgeries and Transfusions
Doctors reportedly carried out a blood transfusion of five pints as her condition deteriorated. Despite receiving antibiotics, her health did not improve.
On February 13, Elena underwent another surgical procedure aimed at removing excess fat in an effort to stabilise her condition. However, the complications persisted and her health remained critical.
Medical practitioners later advised the family to transfer her to Lagos University Teaching Hospital for specialised treatment.
Struggle for Emergency Care
The situation became more desperate on February 19 when the family attempted to secure an intensive care unit (ICU) bed at the hospital. Reports indicate Elena waited in an ambulance for more than five hours while still in severe pain because no ICU space was immediately available.
She was later transferred to Emel Hospital, where an ICU bed was reportedly available at a daily cost of about KSh 142,000. However, the facility reportedly did not have a surgeon able to handle cosmetic surgery complications.
The following day she was moved again to another medical facility where a surgeon was available to remove infected fat. The procedure reportedly cost around KSh 570,000.
Family’s Desperate Efforts to Save Her
As Elena’s condition worsened due to a severe blood infection, her family struggled to meet the escalating medical expenses.
Some of her property was reportedly sold in order to fund the treatment. On February 22, she required an additional seven pints of blood, prompting the family to appeal to well-wishers for help.
Despite the efforts to raise funds and secure medical care, Elena’s health continued to decline.
Fans and Family Mourn
Tragically, Elena Jessica passed away shortly afterwards, bringing a heartbreaking end to the family’s desperate attempts to save her life.
Her death has sparked grief among fans and followers who had admired her glamorous online presence and active engagement on social media. Many have taken to online platforms to express their condolences and pay tribute to the influencer.
