Legal Action Against Taxi Driver

The driver involved in the incident has been arrested for reckless and negligent driving. Authorities allege he ignored metro police officers and entered the marathon route while potentially under the influence of alcohol.

Community Rallies to Support Family

While Du Plessis was in critical condition, a BackaBuddy campaign raised over R330,000 to help cover her medical expenses. A fundraising fun run originally scheduled for Saturday at the Run-A-Way Sport store in Pretoria will now be transformed into a memorial event in her honour.

The running community continues to mourn the loss of the accomplished athlete, remembering her courage and dedication to the sport.
