R&B Musician Presss Speaks Out After Surviving Attempted Hijacking and Robbery on N4 Highway
South African R&B musician Preston “Presss” Sihlangu narrowly escaped an attempted hijacking and robbery while traveling on the N4 highway over the weekend. The singer, who was en route from Johannesburg to Rustenburg for work, managed to escape the harrowing incident unscathed.

Taking to Instagram in a post seen by Zimoja, Presss Sihlangu shared his traumatic experience, expressing gratitude to his fans for their support.
“I want to take an opportunity to reach out to all my fans and supporters following last night’s unsettling incident on the N4 while en route to Rustenburg for work,” he wrote.
Following the incident, Sihlangu reassured his followers that he was unharmed but chose not to reveal too many details.
“While I cannot disclose the specific details of what transpired, I can reassure you that I am okay. Your heartfelt messages have meant the world to me during this time,” he wrote.

Recent Surge in Violent Hijackings
Presss’ ordeal comes amid a rise in hijacking incidents targeting celebrities and public figures. Just recently, Nigerian DJ Big N—real name Nonso Temisan Ajufo—was shot in Johannesburg during a separate hijacking incident.
The popular DJ recounted how six armed men wielding rifles ambushed him at a traffic light. During the attack, he was shot in the leg while trying to escape.
“In the chaos, I tried to escape but got shot in the leg. One of the robbers put the rifle to my head and demanded my watch, which I struggled to remove, along with my chain and other jewelry. Bleeding heavily, I managed to get back to the car, and the driver rushed me to the nearest hospital. The bullet had passed through my leg, narrowly missing a major artery and bone,” he shared on Instagram.
DJ Big N was rushed to the hospital, where he received treatment for a gunshot wound that narrowly missed a major artery.
