The glittering career of R&B sensation Preston Presss Sihlangu has been plunged into scandal after a shocking public denouncement from his own daughter. The young woman, who remains unnamed as she is still a minor, has levelled devastating accusations against the Thojane Ya Thesele hitmaker, painting a picture of a man utterly absent from his children’s lives.

Presss Branded A Deadbeat Dad By His Own Daughter

The singer’s daughter shared childhood photographs and detailed her years of disappointment. She claimed that her father has consistently failed to offer any form of support, either financial or emotional, to her and her siblings from other mothers. Her pleas, she says, have been met with nothing but empty promises and rejection.

She stated, “He is useless. He is an absent father. He blocked my mother on my birthday.”

This drastic action was allegedly taken after the young girl contacted him to ask for money to celebrate her special day. Recounting her numerous attempts to connect with him, she revealed, “I used to text him, and every time he’d make lame excuses and say he was in the studio. He said we would talk when he was done. However, he never made a phone call.”

A History of “Papgeld” Disputes

This is not the first time the Popstars winner has faced such serious allegations. Another of his children’s mothers, Didi Magandela, has previously taken him to court, branding him “the father from hell” for his failure to provide consistent maintenance for their son. Court records indicate that, despite making some payments following legal intervention, his support has been sporadic at best. These recurring patterns suggest a deeply troubling history of neglected paternal duties.

A Career Marred by Personal Struggles

Sihlangu’s professional life, which began with his win on the Coca-Cola Popstars show in 2002, has been a public rollercoaster for over two decades. Behind the music, he has spoken candidly about his personal battles, including the immense grief of losing both parents and his younger sister. “I’ve been through a lot,” he once confessed in an interview. His romantic life has also been turbulent, with a highly-publicised separation from his wife, Busisiwe Ntseki, and a subsequent six-month relationship with influencer Dineo Moloisane ending abruptly, despite her describing him as a “true gentleman.”
