Renowned South African Evangelist Pastor Simon Gumbi Dies at 79
South African evangelist and Assemblies of God leader Dr Simon Dingane Gumbi has died.
He passed away at the age of 79 after a prolonged illness.
Pastor Simon Gumbi was popular for his sermons on Ukhozi FM’s ‘uNkulunkulu Nomuntu Omusha.’
Bishop Nhlapho Confirms Pastor Gumbi’s Death
The news of his death was announced by his spiritual son, Bishop N.D. Nhlapho, who confirmed the passing on behalf of the Gumbi family and the Assemblies of God Church.

Pastor Simon Gumbi earned widespread respect within the southern African Christian community. Celebrated for his dynamic sermons, he played a pioneering role in church leadership and shaped the lives of many ministers over the years.
He helped establish the Assemblies of God in South Africa and went on to serve as a senior pastor and executive member.
