Revealed! Cellphone Links Between Kelly Khumalo And Accused Number One In Senzo meyiwa Murder Case
Colonel Lambertus Steyn, the State’s fourth witness, made a shocking revelation at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Friday, 28 July. Steyn, a data analyst and investigation officer based at the national cold case unit, focused on cellphone data records of people present with Senzo Meyiwa on the night of his murder in Vosloorus, at the home of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo.
The court was informed that Kelly’s phone, which was stolen, was traced to the vicinity of the crime scene at 17:16 on the evening of 26 October 2014 when Meyiwa was killed. Steyn further revealed that there were cellphone links between Kelly and accused number one, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, after Meyiwa’s death. These linkages started right after the murder took place.

During the trial, Steyn disclosed that he found records of two phone calls made to one of Kelly’s cellphones from a number linked to accused number five, Fisokuhle Ntuli. The first call occurred on 2 August 2014, and the second one was made on 15 October 2014.

Accused Know Each Other
According to the cellphone records presented in court, it was revealed that four of the accused knew each other. Steyn highlighted that accused number 5 had contact with accused number 3, Mthobisi Mncube. Additionally, Mncube was also in contact with accused number 2, Bongani Ntanzi.
The individuals standing trial, namely Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, are facing charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a license, and possession of ammunition.
