It has been revealed that the lone survivor of the Indian plane crash was saved by jumping through the emergency exit.
The one passenger survived Wednesday’s catastrophic Air India flight crash by escaping through an emergency exit, according to local authorities. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, carrying 242 people, went down in Ahmedabad while en route to London.
The Lone Survivor Reveals Escape Through Emergency Exit
Ramesh Viswashkumar, a 40-year-old British national, became the flight’s only confirmed survivor after making a daring exit from the aircraft during the disaster.
Police reports indicate his proximity to an emergency door proved lifesaving when the plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. However, he lost his brother who was travelling with him to London.

Survivor Recounts Experience from Hospital
Speaking to journalists from his hospital bed, Viswashkumar revealed he had been visiting family in India with his brother before their planned return to the United Kingdom. While details remain unclear about the exact sequence of events, his strategic seating position near the emergency exit appears to have been crucial to his survival.
Ongoing Search and Investigation
Authorities caution that while Viswashkumar is currently the only confirmed survivor, search operations continue at the crash site. Rescue teams are carefully combing through debris scattered across multiple locations in Ahmedabad’s residential areas.
Aviation experts and investigators have begun examining what caused the state-of-the-art Dreamliner aircraft to crash. The incident marks one of India’s worst aviation disasters in recent years, with the airline and Boeing expected to face intense scrutiny in coming weeks.
