Fans of actress and DJ Thuli Phongolo and Amapiano producer and club DJ Maphorisa are wondering if the two are rekindling their romance after a picture of them in the same club surfaced on social media.

A Twitter user posted a picture of Thuli and Maphorisa hugging as they both smiled. The user captioned the picture:

However, both parties denied being in a relationship at the time and claimed they were just friends. Thuli even addressed the rumours on Twitter in November 2021, saying:
“‘Thuli P is not dating anyone or with anyone in any way…’ – Lord let the truth be heard”.
She also dismissed the rumours that she was dating fellow musician Mr JazziQ after she shared snaps with him at an event that Riky Rick hosted.
Ugly Turn In Relationship Bliss
But, things took a dark turn in May 2023 when Maphorisa was arrested for allegedly assaulting Thuli at her apartment in Sandton. The incident occurred after an argument over infidelity accusations. The report also claimed that this was not the first time the two had violent fights and that their relationship was full of abuse and cheating allegations.
Maphorisa was released on bail and recently got incensed after he got told to go for anger management issues. Thuli has not commented publicly on the matter but has confirmed her relationship with Maphorisa to the police.
So, what does this new picture mean? Are Thuli and Maphorisa back together or are they just playing with their fans’ emotions? Only time will tell.
