SA IDOLS TOP 6 DAZZLE THE CROWD WITH THEIR SONG CHOICE

SA Idols Top 6 Dazzle The Crowd With Their Song Choice

This seasons’ Idols has been probably the most viewer and audience distant since the franchise came to our shores, 16 years ago. With COVID-19’s interruption of the norm, one would expect that viewers take a back seat but here we are, 4 weeks away from the big announcement of Season 16’s winner.

Last night, the contestants graced the viewers with a colourful array of classic melodies, ranging from Caiphus Semenya to Bra Hugh’s Khawuleza, performed by the lovely Ndoni. Twitter went crazy over the performance while hailing the 22-year-old for her mature performance and not letting the magnitude of the song swallow her.

Brandon remains a firm favourite amongst viewers and tweeps. Reminiscent of Brenden Ledwaba, it really must be the name at this point that matches the talent. Brandon performed Tyrese’s Sweet Lady and had the ladies wanting to get on one knee and propose marriage to the other 22-year-old from Baberton in KZN.

The competition is tight and while viewers all have their favourites, we all know that we have to wait for the finale as the tweets quite often do not always reflect the votes. It will be a thrilling finale judging by the talent displayed by the contestants.

Zanothando set the tone for what in South Africa is the wedding season with Malaika’s Mmatswale. His performance was very natural, it truly felt like one was at a wedding and waiting for the new makoti and her groom with only the loudest ululations. It remains to be seen whether or not the viewers will feel as dazzled ass most of us did when he sang.

The judges did not exactly give rave reviews on his performance but this must always remain as a reminder for the viewers to vote for their favourites, as much as they can, as best as they can.

In sad news, Bongi left the Idols stage this week and we wish the lady nothing but the best in all her future endeavours.
