Sbusiso Lawrence has been found hanging after killing his girlfriend for dumping him before sharing the grisly crime online.
Sbusiso committed the murder and shared a video of his bloodied face on his Facebook account, detailing why he took her life.
Sbusiso Lawrence Found Hanging After Killing His Girlfriend In Cold Blood And Posting The Video
The South African Police Service confirmed that after killing his girlfriend, Sbusiso Lawrence was found hanging from a tree near the murder scene in Malangeni:
“A man who had confessed to killing a woman on a social media video that went viral was found hanging on a tree on Wednesday morning (18 December 2024), at Malangeni area in Umzinto, a short distance from where he killed the woman.
“On Tuesday evening, police responded to reports of a murder on a gravel road at Malangeni area in Umzinto where the body of a 25-year-old woman was found lying in the middle of the road. Her bloodied body was found with several stab wounds, and a broken knife was found next to her body.”

“Reports indicate that the suspect fetched the woman, who was his girlfriend, from her home, and it is suspected that the two had a domestic-related altercation which escalated to the murder. The suspect’s vehicle was found abandoned down the road from where the woman’s body was found, and blood on the front passenger seat suggested that the suspect killed the woman inside his vehicle.”
After the murder, Sbusiso took out his phone, captured his girlfriend’s lifeless body and recorded himself explaining why he took his girl’s life. Some of her blood splashed onto his face.
He narrated as he heaved deeply:
“You’re all going to call me heartless. I tried. I worked so hard in my life to satisfy a woman, to make her happy. I gave it my all. I worked tirelessly, sacrificing all my money and other things even when she had a baby outside of our relationship.
“I stayed. I accepted her child and provided for them. But in the end, she got tired of me. She broke up with me not because I did anything wrong but because she is expecting money from the Road Accident Fund and no longer needed me.”
After the video went viral, the police launched a 72-hour manhunt for Sibusiso Lawrence. SAPS reported:
“A manhunt was quickly launched, and an intensive search by police led to the discovery of the suspect’s body, which was hanging on a tree, in what is believed to be a suicide. Police are investigating a case of murder, and an inquest docket will also be opened for further investigation.
