Soccer Star Shaune Mogaila’s Car Found with Alcohol, Cocaine-Like Substance and Marijuana Edibles After Deadly Car Accident

Sekhukhune United soccer player Shaune Mogaila is under scrutiny after substances resembling cocaine and marijuana edibles were discovered in his vehicle following a deadly crash.

The accident, which Mogaila reportedly fled, resulted in the death of a 9-year-old girl and left her mother and 13-year-old sister severely injured.

Car Search Reveals Suspicious Substances and Alcohol Bottles

According to the Daily Sun, acting Ekurhuleni Metro Police Chief Julius Mkhwanazi reported that when officers arrived at the scene on Wednesday morning, they found four bottles of potent Don Julio alcohol in Mogaila’s BMW M2, along with a white powder suspected to be cocaine and marijuana-based edibles.

The powder, which we suspect could be cocaine, and weed edibles were also found in his vehicle,” Mkhwanazi stated.

Deadly Collision Claims Young Life and Leaves Family Devastated

The tragic incident unfolded around 7:30 a.m. on Andrew Mapheto Drive in Tembisa as a mother was driving her two daughters, aged 9 and 13, to school.

Shaune Mogaila’s vehicle collided with their car, leading to the immediate death of the 9-year-old girl, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her 13-year-old sister and their mother sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Thembisa Hospital, where they remain under medical care.

 Mogaila Flees the Scene, Later Surrenders to Police

Following the crash, Mogaila fled the scene without rendering assistance. Later that same day, he turned himself in at the Rabie Ridge Police Station on October 30.

The soccer star now faces charges of culpable homicide, reckless driving, and negligent behavior, all linked to the fatal accident.

He is set to appear before Thembisa Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 31.
